Debrief PreReg

- Robb – APES list, teacher ratings were not necessary for acceptance. Will continue reviewing prereg

lists without teacher ratings

- Paul – data to add – list what math class they are currently in – add as column in Excel spreadsheet.

Remind Andrey next March

- Fawzia – kids that were add-ins at the last minute have turned out to be great students

Senior Science Awards for Excellence

- Jay Hoover and Cole Paullin will receive the awards for Senior Science – George Valverde – Andrey

wants to add in, Mike seconds him – only senior in 3 sciences this year. Conversation to take Cole

Paullin off and add in George Valverde.

Course Petitions

- going through names for each petition – department decision

- should not spend more than 10-15 seconds per petition – speak up if you know a student in any capacity

- Andrey – gives list of everyone who has registered the Monday when we get back from break

- Robb will email or come by classrooms to discuss petitions that come in later today.

Discussion Points: two additional discussion points on agenda – think about over break be prepared to have a

conversation during our dept meeting after break.

Gina – conversation with the counselors about how we do our science course progression – physics first with

improved test scores – why chemistry then bio – brief overview to give the guidance dept to explain – Robb will

set up a meeting with counselors to give them a brief rundown.
